Pentagon Expands Troop Deployment to U.S.-Mexico Border

The U.S. Department of Defense has ordered the deployment of 3,000 additional troops to the southern border, increasing military presence to over 9,000. This action, reflecting heightened concerns about border security, emphasizes the administration’s strict stance on immigration control.

The Pentagon is set to deploy an extra 3,000 troops, alongside armored Stryker vehicles, to the U.S.-Mexico border, reflecting ongoing directives from the Trump administration. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth approved this decision, citing a commitment to “seal the border and uphold the territorial integrity of the United States.” Hegseth has expressed urgency regarding this operation, stating via social media, “We are dead serious about achieving 100% OPERATIONAL CONTROL of the southern border.”

This increase in military presence comes as illegal crossings have surged to unprecedented levels in recent months.
