This strike followed an evacuation order issued by Israeli forces, as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have escalated despite a ceasefire agreed upon five months ago.
Israeli officials cited concerns over a stash of "precision-guided missiles" at the site as a legitimate threat to Israel's national security. The Lebanese government quickly condemned this act, appealing to the United States and France, the mediators of the ceasefire, to intervene and prevent further Israeli attacks.
The airstrike marks a significant escalation, as it is the first Israeli operation in this area in almost a month. However, it is noted that Israel has consistently targeted Hezbollah-related sites almost daily since the ceasefire.
