Exotic Dancer's Testimony Unveils Disturbing Secrets in Diddy Trial

Testifying in a New York sex-trafficking trial against Sean Combs, exotic dancer Sharay Hayes revealed how he discovered Combs' identity, while Cassie Ventura's mother presented evidence of alleged threats and abuse from the hip-hop mogul.

Hayes recounted discovering the music mogul's identity when he turned on the television in the hotel suite, which displayed a message welcoming "Sean Combs." This moment marked a turning point for Hayes, who testified he was hired to orchestrate intimate encounters involving Combs' then-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, without acknowledging Combs' presence watching from the corner.

On Tuesday in a New York courtroom, Hayes described his first meeting with Combs and Ventura. He recalled that he was instructed not to interact with the unnamed man in the room, who was later revealed to be Combs, who had obscured his face with a veil. Hayes described the suite, located in Trump Tower, as being prepared for the encounter, with furnishings draped in sheets and bowls filled with baby oil arranged on the floor.

Hayes' testimony follows that of a former associate of Combs, Daniel Phillip, who testified last week about being compensated to engage with Ventura while Combs looked on. Additional evidence emerged from Cassie's mother, Regina Ventura, who presented an unsettling email her daughter sent in December 2011. The email detailed threats made by Combs, including claims that he would release two explicit tapes and hire someone to harm Cassie, emphasizing that he wouldn’t personally initiate the attack.

Following the email display, Ms. Ventura testified about photographs showing her daughter with extensive bruising on her body, allegedly incurred during abusive incidents involving Combs. Furthermore, she testified to a situation in which Combs demanded $20,000 in response to a claim that he had spent money on Cassie. Under duress, Ms. Ventura and her husband secured a loan to relieve Combs’ financial grievance, illustrating the fear for Cassie's safety that guided their decisions.

As the trial progresses, inconsistencies in testimonies are being scrutinized, particularly during the defense's cross-examination of Combs’ former personal assistant.
