**US Citizen Faye Hall Freed from Taliban Detention**

**Former envoy Zalmay Khalilzad announces her release while calls for the couple's release continue**

**Faye Hall, an American citizen, has been released from Taliban custody after two months of detention, with continued calls for the release of other detainees, including a British couple.**

In a notable diplomatic development, former U.S. envoy Zalmay Khalilzad confirmed that American citizen Faye Hall has been released from Taliban custody after spending two months detained. Hall, who was apprehended in February alongside Peter and Barbie Reynolds, a British couple in their seventies known for their work in women's education, is reportedly now in the care of Qatari officials and is expected to return home soon.

While the reasons behind the arrest of Hall and the Reynolds remain unclear, the Global community has been concerned about the couple's detention amid ongoing humanitarian issues in Afghanistan. Zalmay Khalilzad, who served as the Special Representative for Afghanistan during previous administrations, expressed gratitude to Qatar for its role as a mediator in facilitating Hall's release.

This marks the fourth American released by the Taliban in recent months, as relations between the U.S. and the Taliban remain fragile yet active. Just prior to Hall's release, another American, George Glezmann, was freed on what was described as "humanitarian grounds", signaling a possible shift in Taliban-U.S. negotiations following recent high-level discussions in Kabul.

The Reynolds couple, who dedicated their lives to education in Afghanistan, remains detained. Their daughter, Sarah Entwistle, has made public appeals for their release, highlighting her father's serious health issues while incarcerated, including infections and lack of appropriate medical care.

As the situation unfolds, calls for further action regarding the fate of those left behind continue to gain momentum, reflecting the ongoing complexities of U.S.-Afghanistan relations post-Taliban takeover.
