Giorgio Armani to Sit Out Milan Fashion Week for the First Time in His Career

Fashion icon Giorgio Armani is recovering at home and will not attend Milan Fashion Week due to health reasons.

In a surprising turn of events, Giorgio Armani, the renowned 90-year-old Italian designer, will for the first time miss his two shows at Milan Fashion Week. His company announced that he is currently recuperating at home following a brief hospital stay in Milan. Known for his commitment to his craft, Armani had worked diligently on the Spring-Summer 2026 collections prior to his hospitalization. Although he will follow the shows remotely, this marks a significant moment in his illustrious career that has lasted over five decades. Leo Dell'Orco, head of menswear design and Armani's long-time collaborator, will take the spotlight during the shows. Armani, often referred to as 'Re Giorgio,' remains optimistic about future shows, including those in Paris. As he prepares to celebrate both his 50th brand anniversary and 91st birthday, the fashion world anticipates his return.

Armani's legacy began in 1975, and he has since expanded his brand into numerous fashion sectors, including haute couture, ready-to-wear, accessories, and more. His influence has shaped the luxury fashion industry internationally.
