Son of Norwegian Crown Princess Under Investigation for Multiple Crimes
Marius Borg Høiby faces serious allegations following a lengthy police investigation.
Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, is currently under serious suspicion following a police investigation encompassing three separate arrests last year. Authorities have indicated that he is suspected of three counts of rape and an additional 23 offences. After an extensive ten-month investigation, police have submitted the findings to prosecutors who will determine if charges will be filed. Høiby's attorney, Petar Sekulic, stated that while his client takes the accusations seriously, he denies wrongdoing in numerous instances, particularly regarding allegations of sexual abuse and violence.
The 28-year-old has been under scrutiny since an initial arrest on August 4, 2024, related to assault allegations. Oslo police reported they conducted a meticulous investigation entailing numerous witness interviews, searches, and analysis of comprehensive digital evidence. This included multiple sessions of questioning with Høiby throughout autumn 2024 and spring 2025, where he purportedly cooperated fully with law enforcement.
Among the allegations against Høiby are four instances of sexually offensive behaviour, one account of abuse in a close relationship, and two counts of bodily harm. Notably, some sexual offence cases have been dismissed due to limitations on statute applicability and lack of evidentiary support. Police confirmed the involvement of a double-digit number of victims, although specific details remain undisclosed. The Royal House of Norway has acknowledged the ongoing legal process but refrained from additional commentary at this time.
