Russian authorities have announced the arrest of a suspect implicated in the recent car bomb attack that killed General Yaroslav Moskalik in Moscow's outskirts. The suspect, identified by the Federal Security Service (FSB) as Ignat Kuzi, is claimed to be a spy for Ukraine. He allegedly planted explosives in a Volkswagen Golf, which was detonated remotely as the general passed by his home in Balashikha.
According to the FSB, Kuzi had been recruited by Ukrainian special services earlier this year and traveled to Moscow in September. In a video shared by Russian media, the detained individual reportedly confessed to his involvement, while additional footage illustrated the components used in the explosive device.
The Kremlin has openly accused Ukraine of being behind the attack, labeling it as an act of terrorism. General Moskalik had a notable history, previously representing Russia during negotiations in Paris in 2015, aimed at resolving the conflict in the Donbas region, which has endured since 2014.
