**Fleeing Flames: Passengers' Harrowing Escape from Plane Fire in South Korea**

Chaos erupted as passengers faced a fire onboard a South Korean flight, marked by a distressing lack of immediate evacuation orders.

In a frightening incident at a South Korean airport, nearly 170 passengers had to flee an Airbus A321 engulfed in flames as they waited to take off for Hong Kong, just weeks after a devastating aviation disaster.

The Airbus A321, preparing for its journey to Hong Kong from Busan, became engulfed in flames just minutes before its delayed takeoff on the night of the Lunar New Year. With approximately 170 passengers onboard, panic set in as flames erupted from the rear of the aircraft, notably from the overhead bins. Despite the visible fire, the captain failed to issue an immediate evacuation order, leading to a chaotic scene filled with shouts and desperation.

Witnesses recounted the terror that unfolded. “Flames were coming out of the gaps between the overhead bin doors,” said Shin Min-su, a passenger. Many were still haunted by South Korea's recent aviation tragedy, making the atmosphere on the plane even more electrified. Passengers attempted to exit rapidly, clamoring for safety as they faced the increasing threat of smoke and fire.

Rather than addressing the situation, flight attendants sought to control the chaos, yet without a clear evacuation command, the situation escalated further. As flames spread throughout the cabin, numerous passengers expressed their decision to abandon attempts to assist in extinguishing the fire due to a lack of guidance and growing panic.

In the face of potential life-threatening conditions, only the quick response from emergency services, who arrived promptly at the scene, ensured that while the aircraft suffered extensive damage, all passengers were able to exit safely. Eyewitness accounts paint a grim picture, reminding us of the fragility of life in an aviation environment, and the importance of immediate action in moments of crisis.
