A 48-year-old man, Jimmy Wayne Carwyle from New Albany, Mississippi, has been charged with stalking and vandalism related to his repeated harassment of actress Jennifer Aniston. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Carwyle's actions culminated in a dramatic incident where he drove through the front gate of Aniston's Bel Air residence, causing significant damage.
The district attorney announced that, if convicted, Carwyle could face up to three years in prison. Prosecutors allege that Carwyle's behavior included sending Aniston an array of unwanted messages across social media, voice mail, and email over a span of nearly two years beginning in March 2023.
"This type of stalking can rapidly move from mere harassment to potentially violent actions, endangering the safety of victims and disrupting communities," remarked District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman in a press release.
The incident occurred on a recent Monday when Carwyle crashed his vehicle into Aniston's property and stopped in her driveway. He was apprehended by the actress's security personnel before law enforcement arrived at the scene.
