The actress and singer claims multiple instances of abuse from rapper DDG, leading to legal action for her and their child's protection.
Bailey, 25, detailed numerous incidents of physical and emotional violence from rapper DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., since their relationship ended in October 2022. A Los Angeles judge has mandated that DDG stay away from both Bailey and their child until a court hearing scheduled for June 6.
In her application for the restraining order, Bailey described an event in January where a verbal altercation escalated to physical violence. "We fought each other, wrestling and tussling," she outlined. "At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped." Bailey presented physical evidence of the abuse, including photos of her injury, which have circulated in various media outlets.
Following this confrontation, Bailey alleged that DDG entered her residence while she was absent and sent her a threatening message. Further claims include DDG's aggressive behavior when she refused to send their sick child for a visit, and an incident where he broke the surveillance camera during a heated exchange.
As part of the legal order, DDG has been prohibited from carrying any weapons. The judge may extend the restraining order for up to five years pending the June hearing. Bailey has also requested an injunction against DDG using social media to spread falsehoods about her, citing that his claims have led to harassment and threats against her online.
Bailey first rose to fame as a member of the musical duo Chloe x Halle with her sister and has since been nominated for five Grammy Awards. She has also appeared in the series Grown-ish. DDG gained popularity through his YouTube channel and has released multiple albums since signing a recording contract in 2018.
