TUNIS, Tunisia (Civitas) — The Global Sumud Flotilla, composed of activists seeking to challenge the Israeli blockade on Gaza, reported a second drone attack in Tunisian waters on Wednesday. This follows a similar incident the previous night involving another vessel.

The British-flagged boat ‘Alma’ was targeted while docked, leading to a brief fire on board, although no injuries were reported. Activists onboard captured footage of the attack, showing crew members shouting warnings and pointing to the descending projectiles.

Tunisian authorities denied the use of drones for the earlier incident involving the Portuguese-flagged ‘Family’ but stated they would look into the matter. Following the second attack, no official comments were made by the authorities.

The flotilla, which began its journey from Barcelona on September 1 with humanitarian supplies, was intended to make a stop in Tunisia before proceeding to Gaza.

“These repeat attacks reinforce the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinians and serve as diversion tactics against our mission,” the flotilla members affirmed. They expressed their commitment to continue despite the threats.

At the time of this report, there had been no response from Israeli officials regarding the incidents.
