Australia's Disturbing Child Abuse Case: Man Charged with Offences Against 459 Victims
A 27-year-old man has been charged with 596 child-abuse-related offences involving hundreds of children across Australia and internationally, specifically targeting minors over social media and gaming platforms.
The individual has been in custody since February 2025, and authorities have uncovered over 23,000 videos and images of alleged abuse on his electronic devices. Detective Acting Chief Superintendent Denzil Clark from Queensland Police revealed that the sheer volume of evidence has required extensive identification efforts, with 360 victims confirmed so far.
Out of the identified victims, more than 200 are Australian, while the remainder are primarily from English-speaking countries. Most victims are boys aged between seven and 15. Police are actively cooperating with international partners to ensure ongoing support for those affected.
Clark highlighted the alarming trend of children being groomed and coerced into producing and sharing explicit material via popular apps and social media, stressing the profound trauma it inflicts on young victims.
The man allegedly targeted children from 2018 to 2025, creating multiple online profiles and employing tactics of grooming and coercion to manipulate his victims into providing sexual content, which he meticulously organized in named folders.
The charges brought against him include 244 counts of producing child abuse material, 163 counts of using a service to procure minors under 16, and 87 counts related to engaging in sexual activities with minors through digital platforms. He is set to appear in court this Thursday, as the investigation continues to look into other suspects involved.
