Fatal Helicopter Crash Claims Four Lives Near Montreal
On 27 September 2026, a private helicopter crashed near Sainte-Brigide-d'Iberville, roughly 50 kilometres (31 miles) north of Montreal. All four occupants were killed in the fiery wreck.
The Sûreté du Québec’s Major Crime Unit and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada are leading the investigation.
Police said emergency crews had the blaze under control within an hour, yet the crash site remained active until after 22:00 local time.
Victims have not been identified yet; officials expect the process could take a few days.
