Gianni Infantino stayed on as FIFA president after senior officials met in Rabat, Morocco, and voted in his favour, even though the global governing body has admitted they made mistakes in a controversial attempt to sell stakes in competitions to private investors.

The meeting followed criticism that the FFA proposal – a plan to create a FIFA‑Forward Enterprise to bring in private money for the World Cups – was opaque and excluded many member associations from the discussion.
