Pop star Lizzo is celebrating a legal victory after a judge dismissed allegations of fat-shaming from a 2023 lawsuit filed by three of her former dancers.

The singer, known for her body-positive anthems like Good As Hell and Juice, marked the development with a video statement posted on her Instagram and TikTok accounts.

There was no evidence that I fired them because they gained weight, Lizzo stated, clarifying that the dismissal was unrelated to the dancers' weight gain but rather tied to them recording her without consent.

Although the claims of fat-shaming have been dropped, the lawsuit continues as the dancers pursue claims of sexual harassment against Lizzo and her production company.

According to the dancers, they endured pressure to attend sexual shows and inappropriate interactions with nude performers between 2021 and 2023.

Specific accusations include Lizzo allegedly encouraging one dancer to fondle a performer at a nightclub in Amsterdam.

Despite Lizzo's legal team's assertions that the lawsuit is a manufactured narrative, the case moves forward, focusing on the sexual harassment claims. Lizzo's legal representatives maintain that they have evidence refuting the allegations, including witness statements from 18 individuals who worked alongside her.

“I'm not settling,” Lizzo declared in her heartfelt statement, reflecting on how the weight of these allegations has adversely affected her over the past two years. She reiterated her commitment to support individuals of all body types and expressed her determination to fight for the truth.
