WASHINGTON — Melania Trump unveiled the White House holiday decorations this past Monday, embracing the theme 'Home Is Where the Heart Is.' This marks the first occasion she has presented the holiday decor since her return as First Lady of the United States.

The festive displays not only convey a sense of warmth and family but also pay homage to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, emphasizing a patriotic spirit.

A notable change this year comes as the official White House Christmas tree is now located in the Blue Room, honoring Gold Star families who have lost loved ones in military service. Historically, this tree greeted visitors upon entering through the East Wing, which has been undergoing demolition to make way for a new ballroom.

The East Room showcases traditional red, white, and blue themes that represent national symbols, including golden eagle tree toppers and ornaments adorned with stars, roses, and oak leaves to highlight America's impending celebrations.

A statement from the White House summarized the Christmas spirit as a time to reflect on what makes the U.S. exceptional, noting that the heart of America is unified through kindness and generosity: 'In every community, we are lifted by simple acts of kindness that reflect the enduring American spirit of generosity, patriotism, and gratitude.'

Melania Trump personally curated the decorations, which were assembled by a dedicated group of volunteers. The updates this year come as public tours resume with limited access following renovations, expecting to welcome tens of thousands of visitors.

The grand display includes 75 wreaths, 51 Christmas trees, thousands of feet of garland, lights, ribbons, and butterflies, exemplifying the vibrant spirit of the season.
