
At least two people died in a shooting at a street festival on St Clair Avenue, Toronto.
Police received an active shooter alert at about 20:12 local time (01:12 BST) while the salsa‑themed festival was underway.
An officer team found six victims with gunshot wounds; two were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities secured the area, but warned the public to keep a safe distance as a large police presence remains.
The suspect or suspects have not yet been apprehended, and investigations continue.
St Clair Avenue, in midtown Toronto, hosts shops and restaurants and welcomed the 22nd Salsa on St Clair Latin festival this year, a yearly celebration that features live music and dance performances.
