BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A profound incident occurred early Saturday at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) when a football player stabbed two of his teammates. The attack happened just hours before UAB’s scheduled game against the University of South Florida, as confirmed by a university statement.

The university has yet to disclose the identities of the players involved. Both wounded teammates are reported to be in stable condition, while the player suspected of the stabbing is now in custody.

The stabbing took place on campus, specifically at the Football Operations Building, an area pivotal to the team’s activities.

Interestingly, UAB decided to go ahead with the afternoon game at Protective Stadium, during which the team honored 29 of their players on Senior Day. In a formal statement, UAB emphasized that the safety and well-being of all students remains their top priority.
