MADISON, Wis. — Authorities are searching for Morgan Geyser, a 23-year-old woman who gained notoriety for her involvement in a violent attack against a classmate in 2014. Geyser was last seen on Saturday evening with an adult acquaintance after cutting off her electronic monitoring device while at a group home, prompting Madison police to issue a public alert.

Earlier this year, Geyser had been conditionally released from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute, where she was treated for mental health issues following her conviction for attempted first-degree intentional homicide. At the age of 12, she and her co-defendant Anissa Weier lured their classmate Payton Leutner to a Wisconsin park, where Geyser brutally stabbed Leutner multiple times, in an attempt to appease the online horror character Slender Man. Fortunately, Leutner survived the attack.

The girls claimed they believed Slender Man would harm their families if they failed to follow through with the act. While Geyser remains unaccounted for, Weier, who pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree intentional homicide, was also sent to a psychiatric facility but was granted release in 2021. If you have any information on Geyser's whereabouts, you are urged to contact 911.
