LOGAN, Utah (Civitas Global) — Turning Point USA’s college tour returns to Utah on Tuesday, marking its first event since the tragic assassination of founder Charlie Kirk earlier this month. The event, taking place at Utah State University, follows the shocking incident where Kirk was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10.
The murder of Kirk, a prominent ally of the conservative movement and President Donald Trump, has ignited a rallying cry among conservatives nationwide. Many are pledging to continue his mission of promoting conservatism among young voters while pushing American politics further right.
In response to his assassination, Turning Point USA has experienced a surge in interest, with requests to start new chapters in schools flooding in. The organization aims to showcase how it will move forward without Kirk, who was instrumental in rallying crowds and discussions around conservative values.
Tuesday’s event, which had been planned prior to Kirk’s death, will feature notable conservative figures including podcast host Alex Clark, Senator Mike Lee, and Governor Spencer Cox, promising a robust dialogue about the future of conservatism. Notably, Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, plans to carry forward her husband's legacy, stating, “We have the blueprints. We have our marching orders,” during her appearances.
Furthermore, the tour is intended to be a tribute to Kurt's legacy, continuing with prayer and interactive segments that he was known for, reinforcing the commitment to maintain the engagement of young conservatives in the movement.
While Erika Kirk will take a more strategic role behind the scenes, she assures followers that her husband’s voice and vision will persist through old recordings and reliable outlines he left behind. As the tour progresses, it seeks to solidify Kirk's legacy and maintain the unity of the conservative student body as they navigate through this challenging period.
