---Rescue workers are intensively working to locate a young Brazilian woman, Juliana Marins, who fell hundreds of feet while hiking on Mount Rinjani in Indonesia. The incident occurred three days ago when Ms. Marins, in her 20s, was part of a hiking group that included a guide. According to her family, she last became unreachable on Saturday morning after falling approximately 1,600 feet. Drone footage indicated that she was motionless in the area where she fell.To navigate the difficult conditions of the volcano, the Indonesian authorities are preparing to deploy a helicopter equipped with 2,000 meters of rope for rescue efforts, although the head of the local search and rescue office in Mataram, Muhamad Hariyadi, has described the situational challenges as “very risky.” Mount Rinjani, situated on the island of Lombok, is Indonesia's second-highest volcano, peaking at 12,224 feet. It has long attracted tourists with its breathtaking panoramic views and the stunning volcanic lake within its caldera, located about 6,500 feet above sea level. In a video shared with family and friends prior to the accident, Ms. Marins expressed the allure of the mountain, noting their motivation was indeed “for the view.” In another clip, a fellow hiker captured the heavy fog blanketing the area, with a touch of humor about their quest for scenic vistas. The community eagerly awaits news as rescue teams put forth their efforts to locate and assist Ms. Marins.
