Nancy Pelosi, 84, was on an official visit representing a bipartisan Congressional delegation commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge when she tripped and fell, reportedly injuring her hip. According to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, the injury was sustained while attending an event in Luxembourg. Her spokesperson, Ian Krager, stated that Pelosi is receiving "excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals" and is optimistic about returning to the United States soon. Despite her hospitalization, she continues to work.

Pelosi has been a significant figure in American politics, representing California and spanning over seven presidential administrations. She served as the House Speaker first from 2007 to 2011 and returned to the position in 2019 after her party regained control of the House. Although she resigned from this role in January of this year, she remains an active member of Congress, having recently been elected for another two years.

Pelosi traveled with 17 other members of the House as part of the delegation to partake in ceremonies to honor veterans and their families. Sadly, due to her injury, she will be unable to participate in the remaining events. This incident comes shortly after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell experienced a fall at the Capitol, resulting in injuries of his own.
