Manhunt Ongoing for Suspect After Deadly Montana Bar Shooting

A manhunt is underway for Michael Paul Brown, a suspect in a bar shooting that resulted in four fatalities in Anaconda, Montana. Local and federal law enforcement agencies are urging residents to remain vigilant as the search continues.

A manhunt is actively being conducted for a suspect following a devastating shooting incident in a bar in Montana that left four individuals dead. The shooting occurred late Saturday night at The Owl Bar, situated in Anaconda, approximately 109 miles west of Bozeman. According to the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation, the authorities received reports of multiple shootings at the venue around 10:30 PM local time.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is also involved, stating they are responding to the tragic event. Anaconda has a population of nearly 10,000 people and was once a hub for copper smelting. In a social media update, the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center announced that the suspect in the case, identified as Michael Paul Brown, is believed to be armed and dangerous and urged the public not to approach him, instead directing them to contact 911.

Residents of Anaconda have been advised to remain indoors and secure their homes as the search intensifies. Nearby, the Granite County Sheriff's Office stated that the suspect was last seen wearing a tie-dyed shirt, blue jeans, and an orange bandana. Furthermore, a search of Brown's residence was executed by SWAT teams, but yielded no results.

Montana's Governor, Greg Gianforte, expressed his condolences online, calling for prayers for the victims and their families, while commending law enforcement for their swift actions. The FBI is also lending its support in the investigation, which is reportedly using police drones to assist in the manhunt. The Owl Bar, a historical establishment founded in 1893 for Anaconda's copper workers, has become the site of this tragic event that is shaking the small community.
