The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) released a notification indicating that any portable batteries lacking a clear Chinese safety certification would be barred from flights. This ban follows an increase in incidents involving the combustion of portable batteries during flights, prompting airlines and global regulatory bodies to enhance scrutiny regarding their in-flight usage.

This new policy comes on the heels of a major safety alert involving two prominent Chinese battery manufacturers that have recently issued recalls for millions of devices due to concerns with their lithium-ion cells. In addition to Anker's recalls, another company, Romoss, has had to withdraw nearly half a million units from the market.
