Tragically, on Monday, authorities announced the recovery of two more bodies from that capsized boat, bringing the total to eight fatalities, all adults.

Brigantino and her friends witnessed the destruction from the shore as local boaters risked their safety to assist those aboard the distressed vessels. She noted how quickly the waters became violent, describing it as a shocking and overwhelming force. "The water was just screaming toward the shore," she recounted, reflecting on the rapid escalation to dangerous conditions.
