Tragic Death of French Streamer Not Caused by Trauma, Autopsy Reveals
Investigation into the death of popular streamer suggests medical or toxicological causes rather than foul play.
An autopsy conducted on Raphaël Graven, the French streamer recognized online as Jean Pormanove, has ruled out trauma as the cause of his death. Graven, known for his live streams on the platform Kick, was discovered deceased at a residence in Contes, near Nice. Clara Chappaz, a French government minister, labeled the situation an "absolute horror" and initiated a judicial investigation. Prosecutor Damien Martinelli announced that medical examiners concluded Graven's demise was “not traumatic” and there was no evidence of third-party involvement.
Only slight bruising and healed injuries were noted, pointing potentially towards medical or toxicological origins as the cause of death. Additional tests to assess the situation have been ordered, with indications that Graven may have faced heart issues and had been undergoing treatment for a thyroid disorder. Prior to his passing, reports surfaced that the 46-year-old experienced episodes of violence and sleep deprivation during streams, eventually passing away in his sleep while broadcasting live.
Mr. Martinelli noted that police are interviewing individuals who were present during the incident, and collected equipment and videos as part of the investigation to determine the events leading up to Graven's death and their potential contribution to it. The company Kick has also responded by reviewing the circumstances surrounding the streamer’s death urgently.
