Israeli airstrikes on the village of Kfar Rumman in southern Lebanon have killed at least 11 people, including two children, according to Lebanese state media.
Nine individuals lost their lives when a three‑storey residential building was struck shortly after midnight. A second strike on a vehicle claimed two paramedics, bringing the death toll to 11.
The Israeli military says it is looking into the reports, amid a flare‑up that follows recent drone attacks by the armed group Hezbollah on troops in areas of the country under Israeli occupation.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has warned that the attacks represent a dangerous escalation that could jeopardise the US‑brokered ceasefire agreed in June, intended to end hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
The latest strikes follow a pattern of intensified military action in the region, raising concerns over civilian safety and the durability of the ceasefire agreement.
