A Ukrainian drone strike on a warehouse near Moscow killed five people and left ten more injured, according to the region’s governor. The target was not specified, but Ukrainian officials say the depot was part of Wildberries’ supply network, a Russian “Amazon” that Ukraine claims supplies the Russian army.
The drone attack occurred overnight on Tuesday and set a fire at a facility in Novoselki, Chekhov – 69km south of the Kremlin. The governor, Andrei Vorobyov, reported that seven of ten wounded were in moderate condition, and one was in serious condition. Ukrainian media linked the site to Wildberries, which confirmed a strike on its St Petersburg facility but remained silent on the Moscow depot.
Russia’s defense ministry said it intercepted and destroyed 320 drones that night, and Russian forces continued their strikes on Ukraine. In the south, an 89‑year‑old woman was killed in a hit on Mykolaiv, and a residential area in Sumy saw two women and children dead. Other Ukraine cities – Bilhorod‑Dnistrovskyi and Dnipro – suffered injuries and a fire at a food warehouse.
The incident heightens the risk to civilians around lines of supply and logistics, and both sides are bolstering their air‑defense measures to counter the growing use of UAVs in the conflict.
