Beyoncé's unreleased music is among items taken from a vehicle in Atlanta, prompting an ongoing police inquiry just before her tour performances.
In a shocking incident just days before her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta, several items including unreleased music by Beyoncé were stolen from a vehicle, according to authorities. The incident occurred on July 8, two days prior to her first performance in the city, when a rental car driven by her choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue was broken into.
The police report indicates that the duo parked their rented Black Jeep Wagoneer while they went to a nearby food hall. Upon returning, they discovered that the rear window of the vehicle had been smashed, and two suitcases were missing. Among the stolen items were several hard drives that contained critical assets such as unreleased songs, plans for past and upcoming shows, and curated set lists for the tour.
Police revealed that they have issued an arrest warrant for the thief, but the name of the suspect has not been disclosed. Grant and Blue informed authorities that they were responsible for "personal sensitive information" related to Beyoncé which was also inside the car. Additional stolen items included a laptop, some designer clothes, and Apple AirPods.
Authorities managed to employ tracking information from the recovered laptop and headphones to ascertain the potential location of the stolen goods. A fingerprint examination of the vehicle yielded "two very light prints," but it is currently unknown if any of the stolen items have been retrieved.
Beyoncé has been performing in Atlanta since July 10, with her last show scheduled for the following Monday night, during which her husband, rapper Jay-Z, made a surprise appearance on stage. The news of the theft has sparked concern among fans and within the music community, with many eager to know the fate of the unreleased music.
