In a surprising turn of events, Analisa Josefa Corr, the daughter of the late Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos, has been prohibited from drinking alcohol during flights and in airports following a drunken brawl on a Jetstar flight. The incident occurred on December 29, as Ms. Corr and her husband, James Alexander Corr, allegedly caused a disturbance while traveling from Hobart to Sydney, leading to their removal from the aircraft.
According to Australian police, Ms. Corr was accused of "grabbing and shaking" another passenger while exiting the toilet. Both Ms. Corr and Mr. Corr have pleaded not guilty to charges of failing to comply with safety instructions and consuming alcohol not provided by the airline, but recently agreed to an alcohol restriction as a condition of their bail.
The couple faces severe penalties if convicted, with fines reaching up to A$13,750 (approximately $8,520) for each offense. Additionally, Ms. Corr is contesting an assault charge that could result in a two-year prison sentence. The couple has been asked to post A$20,000 in bail, which would be forfeited if they violate any conditions.
Analisa, 53, is the daughter of Ferdinand Marcos and former model Evelin Hegyesi, making her the half-sister of the Philippines' current president, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Mr. Corr, 45, is described as a past military member. Australian Federal Police have reminded travelers to be cautious of their behavior at airports, warning of significant fines or worse penalties during the holiday season.
While Jetstar Airlines did not directly address the incident, a spokesperson emphasized their zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive conduct, prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of all passengers and crew.
