The crash, reported to involve a Cessna 550, took place on a street in the Murphy Canyon neighborhood, leading to significant property damage including the destruction of one home and affecting ten others, according to officials.

In the aftermath of the crash, eight people who were nearby sustained minor injuries; one person was transported to the hospital, while others received treatment at the scene. Approximately 100 residents were evacuated from the area for safety.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that the crashed plane, a Cessna 550, is designed to accommodate eight to ten passengers, including the pilot. Eyewitness accounts highlighted the event's severity, with one resident, Christopher Moore, recounting how he and his family rushed to safety after hearing a loud explosion, only to find their neighborhood shrouded in smoke and flames.

The aircraft appeared to be en route to Montgomery Field, an airport located approximately six miles north of downtown San Diego when the incident occurred. Further investigations are underway as authorities continue to gather more information about the crash and its impact on the community.
