**Tragic Trekker Incident Claims Life of British Tourist in Indian Himalayas**

A British tourist has tragically died while trekking with his friend in the challenging terrain of the Himalaya mountains in northern India. The two men were on the popular Triund trek, renowned for its natural beauty but perilous conditions, when the incident occurred. Local emergency services reported that while descending from the trek, one man suffered severe injuries due to a fall, prompting an urgent call for assistance from a nearby village.

Rescue teams, including the Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Response Force, commenced a challenging operation to locate and extract the injured hiker. After a strenuous four-hour trek, rescuers found the men at approximately 10:30 PM. One was in critical condition and required immediate attention, necessitating a slow and arduous descent due to “extremely difficult terrain." Despite their efforts, by the time he reached the hospital nearly 24 hours later, he was pronounced dead.
