US celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is recovering in a Miami hospital after an alleged TikTok livestream in which he reportedly self‑hurt.
Emergency responders were called to Hilton’s home several hours after viewers noted a livestream showing the blogger performing self‑harm actions. The Miami‑Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the man was taken to a local hospital where he is receiving medical care, and that crisis service staff were on scene providing support to families.
In an official statement the sheriff’s department said they "tactically disengaged" while continuing to monitor the situation, following standard mental‑health crisis protocols designed to reduce the risk of a suicide‑by‑cop scenario.
Hilton, whose birth name is Mario Lavandeira, is best known for his celebrity gossip site that rose to prominence in the early 2000s. He has had a long‑running public relationship with the topic of mental health and public scrutiny.
His managers, Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, released a joint statement to media outlets such as Variety, acknowledging "concerning content circulating online involving our client" and pledging to respect his privacy while they seek updates.
