Senegalese police say they have arrested 14 people and broken up a paedophile gang operating between the country and France. Those arrested, who are all Senegalese, were part of a transnational criminal group that has been in operation since 2017, according to a police statement.
The group is accused of charges including organised paedophilia, pimping, rape of minors under 15, sodomy, and intentional transmission of HIV/Aids. Allegations suggest that they forced boys to engage in unprotected sexual acts with predominantly HIV-positive men, filming these acts without consent.
Four of the suspects allegedly acted under the direction of a Frenchman arrested in France in April 2025, receiving money transfers in exchange for their activities. Following coordinated raids across several locations in Dakar and the city of Kaolack, authorities seized materials linked to the crimes.
The police emphasized the importance of international cooperation in addressing such issues, mentioning collaborative efforts with French officers during the investigation. Moving forward, the Senegalese police have committed to persistently dismantling similar criminal networks, encouraging the public to report any suspicious activities.
