In brief

Russian forces unleashed a wave of aerial attacks across Ukraine, hitting a market in Kyiv, a warehouse in Koledino near Moscow and homes in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk. Three people died and over ten were injured, while Ukrainian air defenses shot down numerous missiles and drones. The Russian campaign, part of an escalating conflict, has prompted Kyiv to target Russian logistics hubs, escalating the humanitarian toll.

In the early hours of the night, Kyiv officials confirmed that Russian air attacks hit a market in the capital, igniting a blaze that firefighters are putting out. Ukrainian air defenses shot down three missiles and nearly 100 drones launched from the attackers, preventing the missiles from reaching civilian targets.

Moscow’s mayor reported that around 600 Ukrainian drones were launched toward the city that evening, with a Wildberries warehouse in Koledino being struck. Footage captured a plume of smoke rising above the damaged facility.

These flurries of attacks form part of an intensifying campaign across Ukraine, with Kyiv targeting Russian logistics hubs to disrupt supply lines, while Russia has ramped up the frequency of its aerial assaults.

Air‑raid sirens sounded four times in Kyiv since Saturday night. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at least six people, including a child, were injured. In the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, a guided bomb destroyed a house, killing two, while Dnipropetrovsk recorded one fatality and 14 injuries.

In Moscow, the mayor noted that roughly a third of the drones sent over the capital were destroyed. A Wildberries warehouse in the suburbs succumbed to the combined attack, underscoring the escalating humanitarian toll of the conflict.
