A fire at a perfume warehouse in north-western Turkey has killed six people.
The blaze broke out at 09:05 local time on Saturday in Dilovasi, Kocaeli Province's governorship said.
The province's governor Ilhami Aktas told Turkish outlet CNN Turk that five individuals were taken to hospital, with one person in critical condition being treated at a burns unit.
Now extinguished, the fire had generated dramatic visuals as firefighters tackled large flames.
Witnesses reported hearing an explosion. I looked from my balcony and saw that the clothes of a colleague had caught fire. I took a hose, put out the flames, and then noticed flames engulfing the factories. There were cries coming from the building, one local relayed to a television station.
The origin of the fire in the Mimar Sinon neighborhood remains uncertain. Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc confirmed that a judicial investigation has been initiated while the labor ministry is also conducting its inquiry.
Located around 70 kilometers (43 miles) from Istanbul, Dilovasi is an industrial town home to various depots and factories.
