US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth’s plane made an unscheduled landing in the UK during a return flight headed for the US, the Pentagon confirmed on X.
The incident occurred when the aircraft, which was carrying Hegseth back from NATO's Defence Minister meeting in Belgium, reported a crack in the aircraft windshield.
The government stated, The plane landed based on standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe. Following the landing, Hegseth reassured his followers, saying, All good. Thank God. Continue mission!
The aircraft turned back while off the southern coast of Ireland and successfully landed at Royal Air Force Mildenhall.
The NATO meeting had focused on security discussions related to Ukraine. Notably, a similar incident occurred in February involving Secretary of State Marco Rubio, whose government plane also had to return due to a crack in the cockpit window.
