In a devastating glide bomb attack, Russian forces struck two civilian buses in the frontline city of Kramatorsk, killing 33 people and injuring 18, officials said.

The Russian shelling, part of a broader surge of air raids across Ukraine, targeted a key logistics hub in the Donbas region, raising fears that the fragile fortress belt will fall to Russian control.

Donetsk regional head Vadym Filashkin condemned the attack as a deliberate attempt to inflict maximum civilian casualties and urged residents to evacuate the area as public transport was halted.

Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, expressed condolences and called for concrete support from international partners, demanding new defence packages to protect civilians.

The strike follows a week of intensified Russian attacks, including a deadly bombing of a five‑storey block of flats in Pryluky that killed 22 people, marking a grim escalation in the civil‑consequence of the war.
