Survival: Tiger Shroff Escapes Mumbai Shooting
Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff emerged unhurt after a gun attack in Mumbai last Sunday, but the incident underscored rising security concerns for public figures in India.
The 36‑year‑old was shot at while his car was leaving a football club in the Juhu suburb late in the evening. Video footage online shows at least two gunmen firing a volley of shots at the front passenger seat as the vehicle drove past a crowd.
Police confirmed that Shroff did not sustain any gunshot wounds, and only two people, including the driver, were injured. Officials are investigating the motive and suspect a targeted attack.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the actor afterwards, describing the attack as an intimidation attempt that would not be tolerated. Shroff’s mother, too, was reportedly shaken by the incident.
This is the latest in a series of violent encounters targeting high‑profile Indians. In 2024, police arrested gang members in connection with a shoot‑out at Salman Khan’s home, and influential politician Baba Siddique was killed in Mumbai earlier that year.
Shroff made his acting debut in 2014 with “Heropanti” and has since starred in numerous films. A former national schoolboy and football enthusiast, he also plays for the professional club Mumbai FC.
