Residents near a breached levee in Tukwila, Washington, were ordered to evacuate early Tuesday morning, just hours after an earlier evacuation alert was lifted in the same county. Authorities in Pacific, approximately 20 miles south of Seattle, urged those in the vicinity of the White River to 'Go Now!' as flash flood warnings were issued by the National Weather Service due to the levee breach.

The recent breaches in levees have been triggered by days of heavy rain and flooding that have devastated many communities, forcing tens of thousands to evacuate and necessitating numerous rescue operations throughout western Washington.

On Monday, emergency crews hastily employed sandbags to reinforce the Desimone levee adjacent to the Green River after part of it failed, prompting an evacuation order for sections of Kentr, Renton, and Tukwila, impacting approximately 1,100 homes and businesses in the area.

Brendan McCluskey, King County’s emergency management director, reported that the evacuation alert had previously been lifted for areas east of the Green River. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in relation to the flooding incidents. Meanwhile, local authorities indicated that flooding was primarily affecting small industrial sectors, and no residential evacuations were necessary on Monday afternoon.

As the region continues to cope with the aftermath of severe weather, residents are reminded to stay alert and prepared for further developments.}
