Eric Bauza, the celebrated voice actor behind iconic Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, has tragically died at the age of 46.

A statement from his family, posted on Instagram, said Bauza had died “suddenly” and “unexpectedly” at his home on Sunday. The message expressed deep sorrow and urged privacy for the grieving relatives.

Bauza’s career spanned animated classics and contemporary projects. He supplied the voices of Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd and Foghorn Leghorn in Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021), reprised those roles in the new animated film Coyote vs. Acme (2023), and lent his talent to Forgotten Island. He also voiced Toad General in The Super Mario Bros. Movie and its sequel The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Variety reported the cause of death as hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Bauza’s last years were marked by remarkable achievements, including three Emmy Awards for outstanding voice performance in television series between 2022 and 2025.

In a 2021 interview with NBC News, the Toronto-born, Filipino‑American actor recalled growing up as a fan of Looney Tunes and imitating the voices that inspired him. “Looney Tunes transcends all languages and all cultures,” he said. “Whether you’re on any part of the planet, you get the comedy.”

Warner Bros. Television Group chairman Channing Dungey, in a statement quoted by Hollywood Reporter, remarked that Bauza had brought joy to millions worldwide and that carrying on Mel Blanc’s legendary legacy had been “one of the greatest honors of his life.”
