Girl trapped in Venezuela quake 'survived on ketchup and cheese'
In the northern coast city of La Guaira, Venezuela, 12‑year‑old Fabiana was rescued from beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings after more than thirty hours of entrapment.
Pulled from inside the debris by rescue teams, she suffered only a fractured left foot, a few scrapes and bruises, and no other serious injuries.
According to rescuers, Fabiana’s survival was partly attributed to the very little food she managed to find, which included ketchup and cheese.
As of this week, the twin earthquakes that rattled the country have killed 3,342 people and left thousands more missing.
