In brief

After dazzling crowds across Los Angeles, Jay‑Z will be the first of Roc Nation’s producers to step on the Super Bowl stage in February 2027. The announcement hinted that Beyoncé might join as a guest star, sparking speculation worldwide. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell praised the cultural significance of the show, while Jay‑Z reflected on 30 years of music and influence. Fans can expect a blend of classic hits, new collaborations and a visual spectacle unlike any previous halftime performance.

Rapper and entrepreneur Jay‑Z will perform at the Super Bowl half‑time show in February, the National Football League announced today.

Jay‑Z’s company Roc Nation has run the show since 2019, and the hip‑hop mogul is part of the creative team that picks each year’s headline act. He has never walked the stage himself before this time, and the announcement left open whether he will perform solo or bring a guest.

“Anticipation as to who Jay‑Z might have guest star at halftime for the big game will now kick off,” the NFL said in a statement. “Of course, his wife, Beyoncé, will be atop the list.”

The 2027 event, Super Bowl LXI, is slated for 14 February near Los Angeles.

The news followed Jay‑Z’s two shows last weekend at the stadium that will host the championship, part of a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt.

“From ‘Reasonable Doubt’ to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay‑Z said. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

Commissioner Roger Goodell added that he “couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity, and cultural impact he will bring.” He recalled that his first wish for Roc Nation was “that Jay‑Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him.”
