At least three Palestinian women have been killed and eight more injured after missile debris hit a beauty salon in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reports.

The PRCS stated that shrapnel impacted the site in the town of Beit Awwa, located near Hebron in the southern West Bank.

According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, fragments landed on a structure used as a salon as well as various other locations in the West Bank.

A Thai worker was also reported dead from shrapnel that struck a farming community in Israel, as Israeli medics confirmed.

The incidents occurred on Wednesday night, shortly after Israel's military announced it was working to intercept an Iranian missile attack.

Wafa identified the deceased women as Mais Ghazi Masalmeh, 17, Sahira Rizq Masalmeh, 50, and Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa' Masalmeh, 36.

The PRCS mobilized response teams, including at least five ambulances, to the scene, where they found numerous casualties and injuries.

The bodies of the three women were transported to a local hospital, along with other victims who were reported to have 'critical and moderate' injuries.

Initially, the PRCS reported that four women had died in the incident, but later revised the death toll to three.

They also noted that rescue crews faced significant difficulties reaching the site due to iron gates blocking access, which adversely affected the time available to provide aid to the injured.

In Israel, the Thai worker was killed in Moshav Adanim, approximately 12 miles (20 km) northeast of Tel Aviv. Magen David Adom emergency services reported that metal shrapnel was scattered across the scene where the worker was found dead.

The individual has not yet been identified.

The BBC has reached out to the Israeli military for comments regarding these incidents.
