Millions of new files relating to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have been released by the US Department of Justice, marking the largest number of documents shared since a law mandated their release last year.
Three million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos were posted publicly on Friday, following a six-week delay in meeting a legal deadline set by President Trump that required all Epstein-related documents to be made available.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated, Today's release marks the end of a very comprehensive document identification and review process to ensure transparency to the American people and compliance. The documents cover Epstein's time in prison and include psychological records and investigative details about Ghislaine Maxwell.
Furthermore, the emails uncovered highlight Epstein's associations with the elite, including discussions with a figure referred to as The Duke and financial transactions with political figures like Lord Mandelson.
A concerning aspect of this release is the amount of information still withheld; although millions of documents have been shared, Democratic representatives claim that around two and a half million pages remain inaccessible without clear justification.
The impact of these revelations continues to echo in the political arena, especially as accusations and concerns about other high-profile individuals, including Donald Trump and Bill Gates, arise from the newly released files.
