At least three Palestinian women have been killed and eight more injured after missile debris hit a beauty salon in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
The incident occurred in Beit Awwa, near Hebron, where shrapnel struck a metal caravan used as a salon as well as other local areas. Reports indicate that this took place shortly after the Israeli military announced that Iran had fired missiles towards them, which they were attempting to intercept.
The three women killed have been identified by the official Palestinian news agency Wafa as Mais Ghazi Masalmeh (17), Sahira Rizq Masalmeh (50), and Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa' Masalmeh (36).
Response teams, including at least five ambulances, arrived at the scene to find several casualties. The bodies of the deceased and other victims with critical and moderate injuries were taken to a local hospital.
Initially, the PRCS reported four deaths, which was later revised to three. They also mentioned that emergency crews faced significant difficulties in reaching the area due to closed iron gates, impacting the response time for saving injured victims.
The BBC has reached out to the Israeli military for comments regarding the situation.
