Yung Filly Claims ‘Good Vibes’ with Accuser in Perth Court

In a hearing held Monday at the District Court of Western Australia, rapper Yung Filly, born Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, testified that the environment between him and the woman who accused him of rape was a positive one. He described the encounter as “good vibes” after a nightclub performance in Hillarys, a Perth suburb, in September 2024.

Filly, who was touring Australia at the time of the alleged offense, said he had first “fancied” the 20‑year‑old tourist when she leaned over the barrier into his VIP area during the concert. According to the rapper, he had then placed a hand over her waist but denied any inappropriate contact such as touching inside her clothing or her breasts.

The alibi for the alleged assault is that the victim had initially engaged in consensual sex with Filly before the rapper allegedly became aggressive and the woman requested he stop. Despite these claims, the court heard that Filly was charged with six counts of non‑consensual sexual penetration, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of strangulation.

Filly remains on bail and was allowed to return to the UK in September for four months prior to his Perth trial. The 30‑year‑old UK artist is known for his work with the YouTube collective Beta Squad, appearances on Bake Off: Family Chef and several BBC Three shows, and boasts millions of followers on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
