NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Tuesday that suspensions of two U.S. Army helicopter pilots involved in an incident at Kid Rock's residence have been lifted. The pilots had attracted attention for hovering near the entertainer's swimming pool while he saluted them over the weekend.

In a message shared on social media, Hegseth stated, No punishment. No Investigation. Carry on, patriots. This statement followed initial reports of their suspension which was temporarily enacted during a review of the incident.

According to Army officials, the two Apache helicopters from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade were conducting a training flight in the Nashville area when they hovered beside Rock's property. The Army has begun reviewing the circumstances of the flight, including compliance with FAA regulations and aviation safety protocols.

Kid Rock, known for his support of President Donald Trump, indicated to media outlet WKRN that military helicopters frequently fly over his home and that he is a strong advocate for the military. He has also performed for troops in various conflict zones overseas.

Sharing videos of the helicopter incident, Kid Rock expressed gratitude toward the pilots for their actions, emphasizing that their presence was greatly appreciated. If it makes their day a little brighter for their service to our country, protecting us, I think that’s a great thing,” he remarked.

Although the helicopters passed near a protest against Trump happening in downtown Nashville, the Army clarified that their flight was unrelated to the protest.

Kid Rock's home, designed to resemble the White House, features signs that reflect his political views, and he had a meeting at Fort Campbell with Vice President JD Vance last Thanksgiving. The entire occurrence has sparked discussions about the appropriate use of military aircraft in civilian areas.

In closing remarks addressing the incident, Kid Rock suggested that the pilots were simply performing a friendly gesture. I think they know this is a pretty friendly spot, he added.
