Iran's foreign minister has called Donald Trump's promise of intervention reckless and dangerous, after the US President warned Iran's authorities against killing peaceful protesters, stating that Washington will come to their rescue. In a brief social media post, Trump declared: We are locked and loaded and ready to go, though he did not provide further details. Araghchi remarked on X that Trump should understand that criminal attacks on public property are intolerable, particularly given his own deployment of the National Guard within US borders. He emphasized that Iran would firmly reject any interference in their internal matters.

Meanwhile, Iranian police have stated they will not allow enemies to turn current unrest into chaos. The week-long protests, which have already claimed at least eight lives, have spread across various cities, ignited by frustrations over the Iranian currency's plunge against the US dollar. As unrest continues, calls from authorities have increased to quell any instability, with prospects of escalating tensions between nations if Trump's threats are realized.

The protests have emerged as the most extensive since the unrest sparked by the 2022 death of Mahsa Amini, though not yet at the same scale. President Masoud Pezeshkian has promised to listen to legitimate demands, amidst warnings from other officials against attempts that could destabilize the situation further.
