Germany has accused Russia of a cyber-attack on air traffic control and attempted electoral interference, summoning the Russian ambassador in response. A spokesman for the foreign ministry stated that Russian military intelligence was responsible for a cyber-attack against German air traffic control in August 2024.
In addition to the attack on air traffic control, the spokesman also indicated that Russia was attempting to influence and destabilize the upcoming federal election scheduled for February 2024.
Germany, in close coordination with its European partners, communicated its intention to execute counter-measures aimed at ensuring that Russia 'pays a price for its hybrid actions.'
So far, there has been no immediate response from Russia regarding these accusations.
